Willoughby Named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week

9/2/2025 11:00:00 AM

CHENEY, Wash. — After a stellar weekend in goal, Kamryn Willoughby has been named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference today. This marks her first Big Sky weekly honor of the season and the second of her career.

Against UIC, Willoughby tallied seven saves on 14 shots—eight of them on target—helping lead the Eagles to a 4-1 victory. In the previous game she had three saves on four shots on goal in Sunday's draw with South Dakota.

Willoughby continues to climb the Eastern Washington record books, now ranking fifth all-time in career saves (252), fourth in goalkeeper minutes played (4,179.31), and fifth in career shutouts (8).

Riding the momentum of their home win over UIC, the Eagles now turn their focus to this week's matchups: at St. Thomas on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and at Air Force on Sunday at 12 p.m.
