Corvallis, Oregon — Eastern Washington men's golf put together a strong showing at the Oregon State Invitational, tying third in the team standings at Trysting Tree Golf Club. The Eagles shot -10 as a team, just two strokes behind second-place Boise State.
Freshman Carson Krauss led the Eagles, improving his score each round. He opened with an even-par first round and followed with a -1 in round two. Krauss saved his best for last, matching his collegiate-best -4 in the final round to finish at -5 and tie ninth on the leaderboard.
Eli McNelly wasn't far behind after tying for 47th in the season opener. McNelly shot -1 in round one and turned in his best round of the week in round two with a -3. He closed with a +1 to finish at -3, good for a 12th-place tie.
Traejan Andrews rounded out the top three for EWU. After opening with a +1, Andrews posted a -4 in the second round before finishing with a +2. He ended the tournament at -1 to tie at 19th place.
Oregon won the Oregon State Invitational at -17, with Boise State second at -12.

The Eagles continue their fall season as they travel to Stockton, Calif., to compete in the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, hosted by Pacific. The tournament takes place at The Reserve at Spanos Park and runs from Monday (Oct. 12) through Wednesday (Oct. 14).
