CHENEY, Wash. — 2026 is here and Eastern Washington football recruiting class is complete. Eastern signed 15 new players on the regular National Signing Day today.
The new Eagles join the 15 signees from the December early signing period.
EWU's staff addressed its needs across the board, adding three wide receivers, three linebackers and three defensive lineman. The class also includes two cornerbacks, along with one quarterback and one tight end. Specialists were also a focus in the recruiting process with the team adding a kicker/punter and a long snapper.
Eastern's staff built the '26 class with a balanced mix of transfers and high school players, with eight transfers and seven soon-to-be true freshmen.
Homegrown talent is always a focus for Eastern and the '26 class features five players from Washington. Additionally, the staff targeted California, bringing in eight signees from the Golden State. Two of the Eagle signees hail from Arizona to complete the class.

Annet joins the Eagles from Corona Del Mar HS, totaling 248 completions, 3589 yards, 44 touchdowns, as well as 664 rushing yards with eight touchdowns. The 6'1" QB led his team to a 9-2 record in his Senior year with a passing completion of 66% and 35 td's, prevailing as Bravo League champs. He finished his senior season with 2532 yards, adding 264 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Morgan Dodson | K/P | 6-2 | 215 | Chiawana HS | Pasco, WA
Morgan Dodson joins the Eagle family as a four-year letterwinner in both football and soccer at Chiawana High School. He earned football First Team All-Conference honors as a senior at kicker, punter, and defensive end, plus honorable mention at tight end, after being named First Team All-Conference kicker as a junior. He converted 146 consecutive PATs (100%), went 7-for-12 on field goals with a long of 43 yards, adding 12 sacks and four forced fumbles as a senior. In soccer, Dodson was a First Team All-State forward as a junior, a team captain, and helped lead Chiawana to a 31–4 record. Listed as a five-star kicking prospect.
Jamai East | WR | 6-1 | 210 | Oregon State/Vanden HS | Fairfield, CA
Jamai transfers to Cheney after time at the College of San Mateo and Oregon State. East transferred to Oregon State, appearing in multiple seasons for the Beavers and totaling six receptions for 66 yards at the FBS level through 2025.
Jamai originally signed to play at the College of San Mateo, where he recorded 11 catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns in 2022 before transferring to OSU.
As a senior at Vanden, he posted 25 receptions for 616 yards and 14 touchdowns. He helped the team to a 13-2 record as well.

Kaio Finau | DT | 6-3 | 305 | Berkeley HS | Oakland, CA
Kaio arrives at Eastern from Berkeley High School after a highly productive high school career. He recorded 91 tackles, 9.5 sacks, and two interceptions across 21 games as a dominant presence on the defensive line.
Cody Gasseling | TE | 6-2 | 230 | East Valley HS | Yakima, WA
Cody joins the Eagles from East Valley as a versatile tight end and linebacker. A multi-threat player for the Red Devils, Cody totaled 2029 yards, 27 touchdowns, 112 tackles, and 3 interceptions throughout his high school career at East Valley.
Mayson Hitchens | LB | 6-1 | 220 | Weber State/El Modena HS | Anaheim Hills, CA
Mayson comes to Eastern after transferring from Weber State, spending three seasons with the Wildcats. Mayson appeared in 28 games for the Wildcats, recording 148 tackles, making 61 solo. He had three passes defended and one blocked kick. In the 2025 season, Mayson recorded 91 tackles - 47 solo.
At El Modena, Mayson racked up 212 career tackles, including 103 in his senior season (2022-23). He had seven career sacks with eight interceptions and four fumble recoveries. Mayson also had 484 rushing yards and six touchdowns his senior season at El Modena.
Bennett Juve | WR | 6-0 | 180 | Gilbert Christian HS | Gilbert, Ariz.
Bennett put together a strong career at Gilbert Christian High School the past four years. In his career, Bennett totaled 1800 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns, catching 86 passes. He averaged 64.3 yards per game and 20.9 yards per reception. As a freshman, Bennett finished with 952 yards on 40 receptions, scoring 13 touchdowns. This past season, Bennett threw his first career touchdown on his only career pass. Playing on both sides of the ball, Bennett recorded 40 tackles at cornerback, making 18 solo. He had one interception during his senior season. Bennett contributed on special teams at kicker, kickoff eight times for 308 yards.
Bennett competed for the track and field team at Gilbert Christian as well.
Carson Moore | DE | 6-4 | 250 | Bakersfield JC/Palos Verdes HS | Pancho Palos Verdes
Carson comes from Bakersfield Junior College to join the Eagles' defensive line. At Bakersfield, Caron earned All-Conference and All-American honors for the 2025 season. He accounted for 22 tackles, with 14 solo. He also amassed 1.5 sacks for seven yards.
Bennett Nield | LS | 6-2 | 215 | Central Washington/Kings HS | Bothell, WA
Bennett comes to Eastern from Central Washington. He was a three-time, first team All-Conference long snapper.
While at Kings HS, Bennett earned four football letters. He was a state champion in basketball as well, earning two letters. Bennett was also a team captain at Kings.
Jordan Pierro | CB | 5-10 | 175 | LA Tech/Fresno State/Covis West HS | Fresno, CA
Jordan hails from LA Tech, where he will join the cornerback room. He attended Clovis West High School, where, on defense, he totaled 86 tackles, three interceptions, 10 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles in his senior season. Offensively, he had 600 yards and six touchdowns on 39 receptions, which helped Clovis West to their first double-digit winning season (10-2) since 2010-11, when CWHS won the Central Section Division I title.

LJ Roberts | LB | 5-10 | 210 | Portland State/Sacramento State/Lincoln HS | San Diego, CA
LJ joins the Eagles as another talented piece to the defense, transferring from Portland State. As a Viking, LJ had 70 tackles, 39 solo.
Roberts collected an impressive 173 tackles, with 146 solo, at Lincoln High. He added one interception, two forced fumbles and two fumbles recovered. As a senior, LJ earned Western League Defensive Player of the Year and first team All-League selection. Lincoln went 12-1 during LJ's senior season.
Silas Stewman | DL | 6-4 | 280 | Ellensburg HS | Ellensburg, WA
Silas joins the Eagles to add to their depth on the defensive line. Stewman arrives from Ellensburg after recording 17 total tackles, making 12 solo his senior season.
Trenton Swanson | WR | 6-2 | 200 | Idaho/Camas HS | Camas, WA
Trenton brings more versatility to the EWU offense from Idaho. Trenton collected four receptions for 40 yards with a long of 18 yards for the Vandals.
At Camas, Trenton nearly had a 1000-yard season, finishing with 982 during his senior season ('23-'24). He scored five touchdowns with 74 total receptions.

Jesse Taylor | CB | 5-10 | 175 | San Jose State/Pacifica HS | Oxnard, CA
Jesse joins the Eastern secondary after transferring from San Jose State. Jesse attended Pacifica High School prior to SJSU, accounting for 102 career tackles, 66 solo. He had seven career interceptions for 137 yards and 32 pass breakups.

Jameson Wade | LB | 6-1 | 210 | Red Mountain HS | Mesa, AZ
Jameson brings more depth to the EWU defense from Red Mountain High School. He accrued 360 career tackles, 94 of those solo, with a senior season career high of 131. Jameson can also find his way to the quarterback with 17.5 career sacks, boasting 107 lost yards. He is a three-time 1st all-region linebacker, region Defense Player of the Year, First Team all-state, and Arizona Linebacker of the Year.
