FARMINGTON, Utah — Academic excellence continues to be a hallmark of Eastern Washington University athletics, and the fall quarter proved no exception. Eastern placed 82 student-athletes on the Big Sky Conference's 2025 Fall All-Academic Team, as announced by the league.
The 82 Eagles were among 767 total honorees across the Big Sky's 10 full-time members and two football affiliates. Weber State led the conference with 95 student-athletes recognized.
To qualify for All-Academic honors, student-athletes must meet three minimum requirements: participate in at least half of their team's competitions, earn a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale at the conclusion of the most recently completed term, and complete at least one academic term at their current Big Sky institution. Cross country student-athletes must have either competed in at least half of their team's events or participated in the conference championship.
Football led Eastern's programs with 37 student-athletes earning recognition. Women's soccer followed with 16 honorees, while women's volleyball added 13. Men's and women's cross country each contributed eight selections.
Among the five programs, 11 Eastern student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative GPAs.
Across the Big Sky, 367 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors, including 333 in football, 159 in soccer, 112 in volleyball, 88 in women's cross country, and 75 in men's cross country.
As a department, EWU athletics recorded a 3.50 cumulative GPA during the fall quarter, marking the 55th time Eastern has achieved a department GPA above 3.0.
"Congratulations to the 760-plus individuals that make up our 2025 Fall All-Academic Team," said Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill. "Student-athletes face many distractions in the current landscape of college athletics, so seeing this group earn this recognition is truly special and speaks to campus communities that continue to prioritize academic success."
