SAN JACINTO, Calif. — Eastern Washington women's golf was in California for the past three days to compete in the Soboba Spring Classic at the Soboba Resort. Eastern finished ninth on the team leaderboard and built good momentum heading into their next tournament.

"This week was a good chance to get out of the cold and see some green grass and sun," head coach Brenda Howe said. "Round one was extremely windy, probably the worst wind I've seen in the golf course with trees falling down. The conditions nobody really wants to see when it's your first round coming out of winter."

Howe was pleased with the mental fortitude from the Eagles in the last two rounds, "I think in round two we were still mentally recovering from the beating we got by the first round. Today, we played good golf and we're headed back to Cheney feeling good about today's scores."

Berkley Ledesma tied for 13th with a best round of 74 (+2) coming on day three of the tournament and shooting a total 230 (+14).

Spencer Cerenzia closed her tournament strong with a 75 in round three. Brooke Mahler finished round three with a 78.

CSU Northridge finished at (+37) to claim the team title. CSU Northridge was led by the solo title winner Nicole Tanoue, who shot a 215 (E).
