CHICAGO, Ill. — The 2026 season begins next month for Eastern Washington football, and two Eagles are already receiving preseason recognition. Stats Perform released its preseason All-American Team, with
Jaylon Jenkins landing on the second team and
Isaiah Perez earning a spot on the third team.
The Big Sky Conference boasted a total of 24 players represented across the three preseason teams.
Jenkins earned first team All-Conference honors last season after grabbing five interceptions at safety. His interception total ranked fifth in the FCS and tied for second in the Big Sky. The redshirt-junior had 13 passes defended - eight pass breakups - in 2025, placing him 16th in the nation and tying for second in the conference. Jenkins was fourth on Eastern with 52 total tackles, making 39 solo and two for a loss. He started all 12 games for EWU last season.
Wearing the No. 4 jersey last season, Perez was a force on defense and special teams. Perez blocked four kicks last season, breaking the Eastern record and tying for the FCS lead. On the line, Perez led the Eagles with 4.0 sacks, tying for 15th in the Big Sky. The redshirt-senior tallied 51 tackles in 2025 - 19 solo - placing him fifth on the team. He added five tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, and two pass breakups.
Perez will represent EWU at the Big Sky Kickoff Weekend in Spokane, taking place July 25th through the 27th.
Eastern Washington's season begins Aug. 29 as the team travels to play Northern Arizona. The following week (Sep. 5) will be EWU's home opener against Northern Iowa.
