CHENEY, Wash. — The preparation for the 2026 season has been active since the 2025 season ended, but it will go into high gear next week. Eastern Washington football opens fall camp on July 29, exactly a month before the team's first game of the '26 season.
Eastern has 20 practices scheduled, including two scrimmages, to prepare for the new season.
The Red Turf Takeover on Aug. 13 at ONE Spokane Stadium highlights the fall camp schedule. The event acts as the team's first scrimmage and is free and open to the public, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the scrimmage starting at 6 p.m.
The Eagles' practices start at 9:15 and conclude at 11:15(approximate) from the EWU practice fields. Practices switch to the afternoon starting Aug. 19.
Fall camp concludes on Aug. 21 with the team's second scrimmage at 2:30 p.m.
The first media availability will be held after the first practice at 11:30(approximate). Media availability will also be held after practices on Aug. 4, 11th and 19th.
Following both scrimmages, head coach Aaron Best and student-athletes will be available for interviews.
Coach Best, Isaiah Perez and Malik Dotson will represent Eastern at the Big Sky Kickoff Weekend in Spokane starting Saturday (July 25-27). Monday will be media day for the Big Sky, which will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Eastern's 2026 season begins on Aug. 29 against Northern Arizona in Flagstaff.
