SPOKANE, Wash.  — The field was different for Eastern Washington football, but the Eagles had live action on Thursday night. EWU traveled up to Spokane for the Red Turf Takeover and held its first scrimmage of fall camp at the ONE Spokane Arena.

The Eagles' offense and defense faced off in Spokane to put their fall practice work to the test.

The offense scored four touchdowns and converted four field goals. 

Dre Greeley provided the early excitement, intercepting the first pass of the game. The defense posted three sacks on the night and tackled well throughout the scrimmage.

Kaden Rolfsness orchestrated the first touchdown drive for the Eagles offense, finding Rylin Lang for a 24-yard touchdown.

Jaxon Branch scored the Eagles' second touchdown, a 37-yard strike from Nate Bell. The two connected on the next drive for an 18-yard score.

Brady Annett connected for his first touchdown as an Eagle, on his second series, connecting with Bennett Juve on a 13-yard touchdown. 

Bell finished 7-of-13(53.8%) for 103 yards, while Branch had three catches for 61 yards. Jake Schakel went 13-of-23(56.5%) and 133 yards to lead the Eagles. 

Wesley Garrett hauled in four catches for 35 yards, while Sean Embree Jr. had two catches for 38 yards. 

On the ground, Jaxon Bell rushed for 53 yards on only three carries to lead the team. Israel Robles had 13 carries to lead the team, going for 47 yards, while CJ Bozeman rushed seven times for 26 yards.

Vincent Macaluso, Jameson Wade and Carson Moore all tallied a sack for the defense on the night. 

Marcus Nixon led the defense with eight tackles, while JoJo Maxey-Johnson and Shea Robertson added six. Myles Mayovsky recorded five tackles, followed by McKel Broussard and Gage Brumfield with four. 

Jayden Woodland, Jordan Rife, Seanje Finister, Jax Madden and Silas Stewman all recorded three tackles during the scrimmage. 

Soren McKee made 2-of-3 field goals, with makes from 27 and 41 yards. Morgan Dodson made two field goals of 28 and 44 yards. 

Eastern Washington will continue its fall camp and host its second scrimmage next Friday (Aug. 21) at 2:30 p.m.
