COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — Eastern Washington men's golf stayed local this week, heading to Idaho to host the CDA National Invite at CDA National Reserve. EWU placed eigth in the tournament, shooting 877.

"The fall opener, that we hosted, showed some really positive signs coming out fo the gate. But it also exposed some things we need to work on. Carson [Krauss] had a great round yesterday (-4). Traejan [Andrews] and Cal [Anderson] had solid rounds today, while Emilo [Gil Leyva] played consistent all week," head coach Russell Grove said. "CDA National was a great test of golf for all the players. We definitely need to work on eliminating the big numbers, speed on the green, and wedges, which we will work on before we head to Oregon State. Overall, as only our second year of the program's return, to beat some solid, well established programs will give us confidence as we move forward this year."

Emilio Gil Leyva Llamas paired together three great rounds, with a first day 74 (+2), second day 71 (-1), and a third day 74 (+2). Gil Leyva finished his tournament tied for 17th.

Freshman Carson Krauss shot his best collegiate and lowest round for the Eagles; during his second round, he finished with an impressive -4 round to propel him up the leader board into a T-12. Krauss finished in a tie for 29th.

Traejan Andrews had a solid tournament as well, finishing tied for 29th with Krauss. Andrews final round was in the red numbers with a 70 (-2).

Eli McNelly and Cal Anderson both tied for 47th as well, finishing their tournament eight over par.

Saint Mary's (CA) shot 857 (-7) to claim the team title. Oregon State's Davis Hartwell claimed the solo title, shooting a 208 (-8).
