Biography

Career: With 11 1/2 career sacks, he is fourfrom the No. 13 position in school history. 

2012: Listed as a backup at left defensive endon preseason depth chart.

2011: Although he didn’t start any games,he led the team with 5 1/2 sacks. Had a career-high six tacklesagainst Northern Arizona (10/8/11) and Sacramento State (10/22/11).He had 2 1/2 sacks versus Northern Arizona, and one each versusMontana State (9/24/11), Northern Colorado (8/15/11) and PortlandState (10/29/11). In Eastern’s 45-14 win over Idaho State(11/19/11), Ceja broke-up a pass that was intercepted and returned15 yards for a touchdown.

2010: Played in 14 games, includingthree-straight games as a starter from Oct. 16 to Nov. 30. He had acareer-high six tackles, including a sack, versus Sacramento State(10/23/10) in one of those starts. For the season, Ceja had 23tackles with five sacks, three forced fumbles and three quarterbackhurries. Two of his sacks and a hurry came in the semifinals of theFCS Playoffs against Villanova (12/17/10). Thanks to huge playsmade by Ceja, Eastern defensive tackles have some great memories.And those plays helped the Eagles win two games during its trek tothe national title. A Colorado native, Ceja made the first start ofhis career at Northern Colorado (10/16/10) and he had theteam’s defensive play of the game. He forced a fumble on asack late in the game that was picked up by teammate Tyler Jolleyand returned 17 yards. That gave EWU the ball 39 yards from the endzone and led to EWU’s winning touchdown with 41 seconds toplay in the 35-28 victory. His older brother, Dominique Ceja, was abackup offensive tackle for Northern Colorado. Earlier in theseason, Ceja forced a fumble on a sack on the final play of thegame that was returned 34 yards for a score by Renard Williams andsecured EWU’s 36-27 victory over Montana (9/18/10) in thefirst game on EWU’s new red Sprinturf surface at RoosField.

2009: Named to the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team. He saw action in 10 Eastern games as a truefreshman, and had a season-high three tackles in Eastern’sfinal two games of the season versus Northern Arizona (11/21/09)and Stephen F. Austin (11/28/09).

HS: Graduated from Grandview HS in 2009. Was afirst team 5A All-State selection in the state of Colorado as adefensive lineman in 2008. Earned first team All-Centennial Leaguehonors as a senior defensive lineman. He had 87 tackles (17 forloss) with nine sacks as a senior, helping Grandview to an 11-1record. As a junior, he helped Grandview win the Colorado Class 5Astate football championship with a 20-14 overtime win. The Wolvesfinished 12-2.
