2015: Listed as a starter at field safety on the preseason depth chart. He had eight tackles in three spring scrimmages.

2014: Was named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. Had a season-high six tackles versus Southern Utah (10/11/14). He was scout team player of the week following the game against Washington (9/6/14). He had a total of 10 tackles in three spring scrimmages.

2013: Was named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. Played extensively on special teams as well as in the secondary, including one starting assignment versus Montana State (11/9/13). He had 20 of his 35 tackles in a three-game stretch in November. He had six versus Idaho State (11/2/13), a career-high eight against MSU and five versus Cal Poly (11/16/13).

2012: Named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. He played in all 14 games and was a key special teams player for the Eagles. He earned team special teams player of the week honors against UC Davis (11/10/12) when he finished with a season-high three tackles. He had seven for the season, including two in EWU’s final game of the season versus Sam Houston State (12/15/12). The only start of his season at cornerback came against Cal Poly (11/3/12) when EWU’s starters and one other cornerback had to miss the first series against the Mustangs for being late for a weightlifting session earlier in the week.

2011: Redshirted. Was selected as the team’s defensive scout team player of the week once.

HS: Graduated from Jesuit HS in 2011. Was selected as an All-State defensive back by Rivals. Earned All-Metro League honors as both a junior and senior, and had no touchdowns scored on him his senior season. Played in the Les Schwab Bowl All-Star Football Game. Was team captain and earned his school’s most outstanding back award. He led Jesuit to an 11-2 record, including three postseason victories as the Crusaders advanced to the semifinals of the State 6A Playoffs. Jesuit was 12-2 in his junior season, as it finished as the runner-up in the State 6A Playoffs. Also lettered in baseball and track and field. His Eagle teammate Jordan Talley (’11) also attended Jesuit.

Personal: Management major. Born 3/31/93 in Portland, Ore. Son of Paul Weatheroy and Melinda Shawa Burt. His father is a homicide detective and his mother is a personal trainer. His brother, Paul, was the Oregonian Class 6A Offensive Player of the Year at Jesuit in 2006, and went on to attend the Air Force Academy. However, he had three knee surgeries and was never able to play. Miles had originally planned to join his brother there after a stint at the Air Force Academy Preparatory School, but he chose to come to Eastern instead.
