Career: Eastern’s starting running backin the 2010 NCAA Division I Championship Game, Brown has rushed for964 yards and has another 266 receiving with a total of nineTDs.
2014: Listed as the backup at running back onthe preseason depth chart, but will be in the regular rotation withseveral other running backs. He had 55 yards rushing in EWU’sRed-White Spring Football Game and 69 yards total in three springscrimmages.
2013: Played in 14 games, including onestarting assignment versus Montana State (11/9/13). He finished asthe team’s third-leading rusher with 482 yards and fourtouchdowns, and also caught five passes for another 40 yards. Hehad a season-best 98 yards rushing on 10 carries against WeberState (10/5/13). He averaged 6.3 yards per carry, helping EWUaverage 5.3 as a team for the school’s best mark since 2001.In three spring scrimmages, he rushed for 74 yards and a pair oftouchdowns.
2012: Redshirted.
2011: Started Eastern’s first two gamesat running back, but was a backup after that. He ended the seasonwith a 100-yard rushing effort on 15 carries against Idaho State(11/19/11) in a 45-14 win. His best performance before that was 30yards on eight carries in EWU’s opener versus Washington(9/3/11). Earned second team preseason All-Big Sky Conferencehonors by Phil Steele’s FCS College FootballPreview. He caught five passes for 54 yards in EWU’sRed-White Spring Game, and clinched a 28-14 victory for the Redwith a 2-yard touchdown run.
2010: Named to the Big Sky ConferenceAll-Academic team. Played in all 15 games as the backup to two-timeAll-American Taiwan Jones, including three games as the starter.Brown rushed for 23 yards on 13 carries and caught a career-highfive passes for 57 yards in EWU’s come-from-behind 20-19 winover Delaware (1/7/11) in the NCAA Division I Championship Game. Injust his third career start, Brown had a key 35-yard reception inthe third quarter that helped give EWU momentum during its first ofthree scoring drives. He also had three catches on EWU’ssecond scoring drive and one on Eastern’s game-winning march.Also included in the wins without Jones was EWU’s 41-31semifinal victory over Villanova (12/17/10) when Brown rushed for acareer-high 104 yards on 26 carries. Brown’s 104 rushingyards marked the 10th individual 100+ rushing yard game of theseason for Eastern Washington, and eighth in a row. Jones had allof the previous nine 100-yard performances, and Brown’sprevious career high was 54 yards in a 37-17 second-round playoffvictory over Southeast Missouri State (12/4/10). He made his firstcareer start versus Idaho State (11/20/10), and finished the gamewith 51 rushing yards on 11 carries and caught three passes for 24yards. Brown had four rushes for 18 yards and a kickoff return for20 yards in his debut versus Nevada. In two fall scrimmages, herushed for 86 yards on 21 carries.
HS: Graduated from Bishop O’Dowd HS inCalifornia in 2010. In his final two seasons, he was a second teampick on the All-East Bay team as selected by the Bay Area NewsGroup. Earned first team All-Hayward Area Athletic League honors asa senior running back. He led the league in rushing, finishing with1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns. He scored 17 total touchdowns for102 points to rank second in the league. His team finished 4-6-1and advanced to the playoffs. As a junior in 2008, he ran for 1,928yards (9.2 per carry) and 23 touchdowns, and also caught 16 passesand had 270 yards in returns. Defensively he added 33 tackles, fiveinterceptions and a forced fumble as he helped lead the Dragons toa 10-2 record. He had the fastest 40-yard dash time (4.52) at the2008 Oakland Scout.com Combine.
