Biography

Career
  • Crosby has played in 34 games for the Eagles, making six starts.
  • Has tallied 64 tackles, five interceptions, and 14 passes broken up.
  • Has two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

2022
  • Played in 10 games, making four starts.
  • Recorded 27 tackles, two interceptions and three passes broken up.
  • Forced a fumble and recovered two.
  • Against Tennessee State (9/3/22), he recorded a new career-high with eight tackles, including one for loss, and forced a fumble.
  • Against Montana State (9/24/22), he recovered a fumble and returned in nine yards.
  • Recorded his first interception of the season at Cal Poly (10/22/22) on the Mustangs’ last drive to secure a 17-10 victory.
  • Second fumble recovery of the season came against Portland State (10/29/22).
  • His second interception of the season came in the team’s final game against Northern Colorado (11/19/22).

2021
  • Played in all 13 games for Eastern, starting in two.
  • Led the team in passes broken up with 11, and tied for the lead in interceptions with three.
  • Added 28 tackles (three for loss) and a forced fumble.
  • On 9/18/21, against Western Illinois, set a season-high with six tackles and nabbed the first interception of his career.
  • Against Montana on 10/2/21, had an interception in the end zone. At the time of the interception, Eastern was clinging on to a three-point lead early in the fourth quarter.
  • Had a sack on the final drive against Montana.
  • The Eagles would go on to win the game 34-28.
  • At UC Davis on 11/13/21, recorded another interception, along with a tackle for a loss of four yards.
  • Against Northern Iowa in the first round of the FCS Playoffs (11/27/21), had four passes broken up.
  • His 11 break ups on the season is tied for the 11th-highest mark in school history.

2020-21
  • Played in all seven Eastern games and closed the year with seven tackles.
  • Four of his stops came versus Cal Poly (3/27/21).

2019
  • Played in four games, making his Eagle debut at Idaho (9/21/19).
  • Was defensive scout team player of the week once, and was also honored once on special teams.
  • Finished the season with a pair of tackles, including one each versus Idaho (9/21/19) and Northern Colorado (10/12/19).

2018
  • Redshirted.

High School
  • Graduated from Foss HS in 2018.
  • Was the 2A South Puget Sound League MVP in 2017 when he also earned All-Area honors from the Tacoma News-Tribune.
  • Was named by the Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington.
  • Had seven interceptions (two returned for TDs) and four sacks in eight games as a senior (Foss won two games by forfeit).
  • Had 47 catches for 881 yards, 452 return yards, 302 rushing yards, 125 passing yards and 15 total touchdowns.
  • Earned first team All-SPSL honors in 2017 as a defensive back and second team accolades as a wide receiver.
  • Was a standout basketball player at Foss, scoring a career-high 35 points in a 2018 playoff game during his junior season when he averaged more than 20 points per game.
  • Foss won the State 2A title that season, then advanced to the semifinals his senior season when he was the SPSL 2A MVP.
  • Former Eastern standouts Nicholas Edwards (’08) and Allen Brown (’09) also attended Foss, and Brown is now EWU’s cornerbacks coach.

  • Born 3/9/00 in Tacoma, Wash.
  • Parents are Demetrius Crosby Sr. and Shanidan Byrd.
  • His father played for Foss High School’s 2000 state championship basketball team, which also included eventual EWU standout Marc Axton, as well as former Eagles Khary Nicholas and Rachi Wortham.
