High School

Graduated from Central Valley High School (Spokane Valley, Wash.) in 2023.
Earned First Team All-GSL Linebacker honors as a sophomore.
Following his sophomore year, Thomas discovered osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, in his right ankle. Treatment included amputation and chemotherapy. He was granted a medical exemption for an additional year of high school and returned to football just 15 months later.
In his first year playing with a prosthetic lower right leg, Thomas earned GSL Honorable Mention honors as a junior.
Secured defensive MVP honors as a senior after totaling 119 tackles and 17 TFL, adding an interception (returned for a TD).
Also competed in track & field, setting state records in the ambulatory discus throw (123' 9") and shot put (49' 10").

Born June 4, 2004.
Parents are Devon and Melanie Thomas.
Father Devon is the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion / External Operations at Gonzaga University in Spokane. He was Deputy Athletic Director at EWU from 2018-21. He played football at Louisville for former Idaho head coach John L. Smith. Eastern alumnus and former assistant football coach Jim McElwain was also on the Louisville coaching staff.
Mother Melanie works at Eastern as a Student Success Advisor at the Center for Academic Advising and Retention (CAAR).
Older brother Joshua played basketball at Eastern from 2016-19.
