Jake played his high school career at Emerald Ridge HS in Puyallup, Wash. prior to Eastern. His high school career was prolific, accumulating 9284 passing yards and 109 touchdown passes. Jake threw for 3012 yards and 39 touchdowns during his senior season (2023). He chose EWU over offers from Colorado State, Florida Atlantic and Nevada. He is rated as a 3-star, 84.4 composite grade, the 24th overall player from Washington and 91st QB in the nation.
