2010: Listed as a reserve at free safety onEWU’s preseason depth chart.
2009: Played in seven games as a backup safetyand special teams player. He had tackles against Sacramento State(9/26/09) and Southern Utah (11/14/09).
2008: Did not start, but played in seven gamesto earn a letter.
2007: Redshirted. He was defensive scout teamplayer of the week once.
HS: Graduated from Colville HS in 2007. Earnedfirst team 2A All-State honors at running back from the AssociatedPress as selected by sports editors and writers, as well as fromWashingtonPreps.com. He was also named by the SeattleTimes as a “White Chip” selection as one of thetop 100 prospects in the state of Washington. Roberts was selectedas the Great Northern League Offensive MVP as well as a first teamall-league selection at running back as voted on by GNL coaches. Heset five school records in his career, including 3,609 career yards(on 404 carries for an 8.9 average per carry), 44 career touchdownsand a long rush of 94 yards. He rushed for a school-record 1,739yards on 171 carries (10.2 per carry) in his senior season to leadColville to an 11-1 record and the quarterfinals of the State 2APlayoffs. He finished with 22 touchdowns for his fifth schoolrecord. In a 35-14 win over Riverside that clinched the GreatNorthern League title for Colville, he rushed for 163 yards on justnine carries and scored on an 88-yard run and an 85-yard kickoffreturn. In a 38-12 first round playoff win over Othello, he had 156yards. He scored twice, including a 64-yard run, as Colvillesuffered its first loss of the season with a 28-25 loss to Tumwaterin the quarterfinals. Tumwater featured twins Zach and MattJohnson, who are now his teammates at EWU. As a junior he earnedhonorable mention 3A All-State honors from WashingtonPreps.com ashe rushed for 1,388 yards on 168 carries (8.3 per carry) and 16touchdowns. He also earned first team all-league honors. As asophomore he rushed for 482 yards on 65 attempts (7.4 per carry)with six touchdowns. Also competed in track and field at Colville,and as a junior he advanced to the State 2A Championships atEWU’s Woodward Field in the 100 meters.
