Biography

2016: Listed as a reserve at nose tackle on the preseason depth chart. Sat out of spring practice with a herniated disk (lumbar spine).
 
2015: Finished with 11 tackles in eight games in his debut season as an Eagle. He had a season-high three tackles in back-to-back games against Cal Poly (10/10/15) and Idaho State (10/17/15).
 
2014: Because he didn’t enter school until winter quarter of 2015, he was considered a true freshman in 2015 as a “grayshirt.” HS: Graduated from Fife HS in 2014. Named by the Seattle Times as a “White Chip” selection as one of the top 100 prospects in the state of Washington. He was picked as a second team selection on the Tacoma News Tribune All-Area squad as a defensive lineman. Earned All-South Puget Sound League 2A honors as a first team offensive lineman and first team defensive lineman. Fife was 6-4 his senior season. He earned lineman MVP honors at the 2013 Northwest Elite Football Camp in Mercer Island. As a junior in 2012, he was named to the Associated Press 2A All-State squad as a second team defensive lineman. He was also a first team All-SPSL 2A selection as a defensive lineman, and earned honorable mention as a sophomore. An outstanding wrestler, he won the State 2A championship at 285 pounds as a junior in 2013, was runner-up as a senior and was fifth as a sophomore in 2012. He entered his senior season 68-8, and through December 2013 he was 16-0 as a senior. He has also won multiple state championships in power lifting, and owns several USAPL state records in the men’s 16-17 age group. Among his efforts are a 575-pound squat lift, a 625-pound dead lift and 315-pound clean lift.
 
Personal: Considering majoring in education. Born 3/9/96 in Tacoma, Wash. He changed his surname from Failauga to Sarte as a tribute to his stepfather and his brother, Clinton Sarte, who passed away in summer 2013 after a battle with stomach cancer. His parents are David and Tara Sarte. His nickname is “Big Mo.” Name is pronounced “Mo-knee-kay” “Sar-tuh.”
