Jacob Hernandez was promoted from Student Assistant to Defensive Quality Control in February 2026. 

Prior to the 2025 season, Jacob was a high school football coach in Spokane for three seasons (2022-24). While coaching at the high school level, Jacob also coached at Pro Vision Academy in Spokane, with former EWU All-Americans Greg Peach and Dario Romero.

He's the son of Augie Hernandez, a former long-time EWU athletics employee.
