FULL RESULTS

The Eastern Washington University track and field teams completed their third indoor meet of the season at the Washington State Open today (Jan. 20).

The men took three titles in the meet. Sophomore Keshun McGee highlighted the competition with his 50-8 1/4 mark in the triple jump, making him the leader in the Big Sky Conference. Kasin Pendergrass Anderson from the University of Idaho was the previous leader with a mark of 49-4 1/2.

"Overall, the team effort was stellar today," men's head coach Stan Kerr said. "We know the next couple of meets will be even a larger tests for us, but given today's performances we have every reason to believe that this will be a memorable indoor season."

"I thought our crew did a great job competing," head coach Marcia Mecklenburg said. "Once again we had some outstanding performances and I was glad to see that, given the hard training we have been putting in the last several weeks."

More quotes from head coach Stan Kerr . . .
On Keshun McGee: "Keshun's triple jump performance was an enormous accomplishment. He is having a banner indoor season in the long and triple jump."

On what's next: "Next week in Seattle we expect our distance crew to make a strong showing as many of them competed in shorter races today. With the Big Sky Championships just a few weeks away, it is exciting to see the team performing at this high level."

More quotes from head coach Marcia Mecklenburg . . .
On running individuals: "Kudos to Alexis Rolan and Rebecca Tarbert. It is going to be fun to watch these two as we get farther into the season. Gracie Ledwith also had another gutsy race. Sophie Bowles' time in the 300 will transfer over to some fast times in the 400."

On throwing individuals: "Our weight throw group feed off each other's throws and you never know from one week to the next who is going to throw the farthest."
