CHENEY, Wash. – After opening the 2018-19 season with two back-to-back home games, the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team is preparing for their first road challenge. The Eagles take on Brigham Young University on Saturday at 12 p.m. Pacific time in Provo, Utah.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Eastern Washington is 1-1 overall with a loss to Gonzaga and a win over Eastern Oregon. The Eagles will play a West Coast Conference opponent for the second time this season.
Through two games, the Eagles have three players that average double figures.
Violet Kapri Morrow leads the way with 16.0 points per game and is on a two-game double-digit streak.
Uriah Howard (10.5) and
Alissa Sealby (10.0) round out the leaders.
Morrow also leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game, followed by freshman
Jessica McDowell-White who averages 7.5. McDowell-White also leads Eastern with 3.0 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game.
As a team, Eastern is averaging 58.5 points and 41.5 rebounds per game and are shooting 34.4 percent from the field. They only allow their opponents to score 54.0 points per game which is second in the Big Sky.
LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 14 against NAIA Eastern Oregon, 66-45. Eastern Washington had three in double figures and forced 31 turnovers.
Uriah Howard led the way with 16 points on 7-for-16 shooting.
Violet Kapri Morrow followed with 14 points, her second game in double figures.
Alissa Sealby rounded out the double-digit scoring with 11 points to tie a career-high.
Morrow also led the team with seven rebounds, while Howard and
Jessica McDowell-White each pulled down six. Howard led the team with four assists. Morrow,
Brittany Klaman and McDowell-White each had three steals.
Eastern Washington scored 25 points off of 31 turnovers and 17 steals, but committed 17 turnovers themselves. Eastern Oregon outrebounded the Eagles 37-to-34.
As a team, Eastern Washington shot 38.5 from the field (13-35), 25 percent from three-point range (8-for-32) and 80 percent from the charity stripe (8-10). Eastern Oregon shot 36.4 percent from the field as a team, including 69.2 percent from the free throw line (9-13).
A LOOK AT THE COUGARS: BYU is also 1-1 overall with an overtime victory over UC Riverside and a loss to California, both at home to open the season.
The Cougars also have three players that average double figures in Paisley Johnson (16.0), Shaylee Gonzales (14.5) and Brenna Chase (13.0). Johnson also leads BYU in rebounding with 9.5 per game.
As a team, BYU averages 62 points per game and allows their opponents to score 70. The Cougars are shooting 36.4 percent from the field and only 29.2 percent from three-point range. Additionally, BYU pulls down an average of 40.5 boards per contest.
SERIES HISTORY: The Eagles trail the all-time series, 3-1. Last year, the teams met up in Cheney on Nov. 17 where Eastern only fell by four points, 73-69.
Violet Kapri Morrow led the team in scoring with 25 points and had 11 rebounds, followed by
Uriah Howard who scored 17. In Provo, Eastern Washington is 1-1 with their last win coming on Dec. 29, 1994.
