EWU Women’s Tennis Hosts Northern Arizona and Idaho State on Saturday and Monday

The Eagles look forward to two more Big Sky matches

CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team will play Northern Arizona (Mar. 17) and Idaho State (Mar. 19) at home for two more conference matches. First serve against the Lumberjacks is at 10 a.m., while Monday's match against the Bengals is set for 4 p.m. The matches will take place in the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse and are open and complimentary to the public.

The Eagles are 5-5 overall after opening Big Sky Conference play with a road sweep over Northern Colorado (7-0) and North Dakota (6-1).

Northern Arizona is on an eight-game win streak and sit at 8-2 overall and 3-0 in conference. Their latest competition was against Portland State where they came out on top 6-1. The last time the Eagles faced off against NAU they lost 7-0.

Idaho State is 5-6 overall and 3-0 in Big Sky play following their latest competition against Weber State where they won 5-2. Eastern took on Idaho State last season and won 7-0.

"We've had a couple weeks to prepare for our home opening conference matches and the team has been working hard," said head coach Dustin Hinson. "We continue to be consistent with how we prepare for matches and we know that we will face some tough battles this weekend. We are working on keeping a 'no regret' mindset so we can leave it all out on the court and have no regrets when each match is done. We are looking forward to taking that kind of focus to this weekend's matches."

Following this weekend, the Eagles will travel to California to play Cal Poly (Mar. 26) and Fresno State (Mar. 28) for non-conference matches.
