LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. -- The Eastern Washington University women's golf team ended the day with a tie after shooting for 600 overall (300, 300) today (Mar. 19) against Gonzaga at the Bulldog-Eagle Challenge. Gonzaga shot for 306 yesterday (Mar. 18) and 294 today.
"The ladies played well again today and a few of them came out and bettered their score from yesterday," said head coach Brenda Howe. "Credit to Gonzaga for having an outstanding round today. In golf we don't get to defend the hole, and in the end we finished the match in an overall tie."
Madalyn Ardueser led the way for the Eagles with 69 strokes yesterday and 75 today for a total of 144 strokes. Ardueser tied for first overall with Gonzaga's Nina Novilla. Kimberlie Miyamoto followed nicely shooting for 76 in the first round and 74 in the second for a total of 150 strokes, followed by Alexa Clark with 151 strokes (77, 74). Kirsten Ishikawa (78, 79) and Ashley Ohland (80, 77) both shot for 157 to end the day.
The Eagles look forward to the Eagle-Viking Invitational next week for an eight-team battle hosted by Portland State. For more information on Eastern Washington's women's golf team, follow @EWUGolf on Twitter and Instagram and like EWU Golf on Facebook.
