CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team travels to Montana this weekend to face Montana State (Apr. 13) and Montana (Apr. 15) for their last regular season road trip of the year. The Eagles sit at a 7-10 mark overall and 4-3 in conference play.
The Eagles are coming off a 7-0 win over Portland State last weekend (Apr. 8) and are currently in seventh place in the conference standings with four matches remaining before the Big Sky Championships in three weeks.
First serve against Montana State is at 3 p.m. Pacific time (Apr. 13). The Bobcats sit at a 5-13 mark overall and 2-6 in conference, ranked underneath Eastern in the Big Sky standings. Montana State is coming off a weekend against Weber State (Apr. 7) where they dropped the match 2-5 and Idaho State (Apr. 8) where they fell 1-6. The last time Eastern and Montana State faced off in 2017 the Eagles lost in a close match, 3-4.
Eastern opens up play against Montana at 1 p.m. PT (Apr. 15). The Grizzlies are 7-13 overall and 3-5 in conference after their latest weekend where they lost to UNLV 0-7 (Apr. 5) and Southern Utah 2-5 (Apr. 7). The Eagles faced the Grizzlies in the 2017 season and lost 2-5.
Following this weekend Eastern will host their last two home matches of the 2018 season against Weber State (Apr. 21) and Southern Utah (Apr. 22). Senior Day for the Eagles is April 22nd against Southern Utah.
