CHENEY, Wash.-- The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team will play host to Seattle University this Saturday at 11 a.m. Pacific time for their first home match of the 2019 season. The Eagles return to Cheney, Wash., after two matches in Seattle where they beat Portland 4-3, but fell to Washington 7-0 to move to 1-2 on the year leading into this weekend.
"We are looking forward to our home opener against a very tough Seattle University team," said head coach
Dustin Hinson. "Our matches have always been battles back and forth every year but we have been preparing well and focusing on our game plan for success this weekend."
The Seattle Redhawks have an overall record of 0-1 with a 7-0 loss against Washington on Jan. 27. Seattle is led by head coach Joey Barnes who is in his first year as head coach.Â
Following Eastern's match against the Redhawks the Eagles will remain in Cheney, Wash., as they then host Montana State on Feb. 8 for their first Big Sky Conference match of the 2019 season. The match is set to begin a 2 p.m. Pacific time at the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse.
