Eagles Wrap Up ITA Northwest Regional with Two More Wins

Marta Heinen and Louise Waite concluded singles play with victories

STANFORD, Calif. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team completed play at the ITA Northwest Regional today (Oct. 20).

Louise Waite and Marta Heinen took down their opponents in singles play. Waite beat her foe from Fresno State, 6-2, 6-2, while Heinen took down a PAC-12 opponent for the second-straight day, beating Oregon 6-4, 6-1.

"Today was a shorter day, but it was a great way to finish the tournament. We had two really nice results against Fresno State and Oregon in singles play. Marta Heinen continued her great play against PAC-12 opponents while Louise Waite was dominant against her Fresno State opponent," said head coach Dustin Hinson. "Overall, it was a great event and I'm pleased with the progress of the team so far this season."

The doubles duo of Rylee Braeden and Zoey Nelson advanced all the way to the main draw round of 16, but fell to Oregon 8-3.

The Eagles have one more fall tournament at the San Diego State Fall Classic on Nov. 8-10 in San Diego, Calif.
