CHENEY, Wash. – After two games on the road in Montana last week, the Eastern Washington University volleyball team is making a quick stop at home as they host Idaho this Tuesday (Oct. 8) at Reese Court. First serve is set for 6:05 p.m.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Eastern Washington is sitting at 2-14 on the season with an 0-4 mark in Big Sky Conference play. The Eagles took on Montana (Oct. 3) and Montana State (Oct. 5) over the past week and lost both matchups in straight sets.
Freshman
Nicoletta Capizzi has totaled 109 kills through 57 sets, leading the team with 1.91 per set while hitting .201.
Ashlyn Blotzer follows with 1.78 kills per set and also leads the team with .71 blocks per set, totaling 41 on the year.
Puaoolelagi Sao is fourth in the Big Sky with 4.33 digs per set, with 251 on the year.
MaKenna Davis ranks fifth in the conference with 14 service aces on the season, averaging .33 per set.
Ana Paula Zandona is 10
th in the Big Sky with 6.91 assists per set.
Coming off of injury, junior outside hitter/libero
Catelyn Linke has played in 24 sets, averaging 2.29 kills and 3.25 digs per frame.
As a team, the Eagles are hitting .111 with 10.2 kills per set. They rank fifth in the conference with 1.3 aces per set and are seventh with 14.8 digs per set. They also add 1.5 blocks and 9.4 assists per frame.
A LOOK AT THE VANDALS: Idaho is in fourth-place in the Big Sky with a 7-9 overall record and a 3-1 mark in conference play. The Vandals also took on Montana State and Montana last week, falling to the Bobcats 3-1 before bouncing back to beat the Grizzlies, 3-1.
The Vandals and Eagles have face several common opponents this season. Both teams beat Cal Baptist during the opening week of play and each suffered losses to both Cal State Fullerton and UIC during the same tournament. They also each faced Grand Canyon during the preseason and lost. Eastern Washington fell to Portland State and Sacramento State while Idaho was able to pick up wins. Additionally, each lost to Montana State while the Vandals picked up a win over Montana.
The Vandals are efficient and lead the Big Sky in hitting percentage, swinging .232 while limiting their opponents to .218. Idaho is also seventh in the conference in both assists (10.49) and kills (11.90) per set and rank second with 2.59 blocks per set.
Both Kyra Palmbuch and Nicole Ball rank in the top five in the Big Sky in hitting percentage, swinging .325 and .323, respectively. The duo also rank in the top five in blocks with 1.18 and 1.08 per set.
Kennedy Warren leads the team and is fourth in the conference with 3.26 kills per set while Donnee Janzen is fifth in the Big Sky with 9.35 assists per frame.
SERIES HISTORY: Tuesday evening marks the 58
th all-time meeting between the two foes, with Eastern trailing the all-time series 20-37. A win over the Vandals would snap a five-game skid, as the Eagles haven't topped Idaho since Oct. 15, 2016 where EWU won in five sets in Moscow. At home in Reese Court, Eastern is 10-16 again UI.
Last year, Eastern lost to the Vandals in straight sets at home on Sept. 18 and on the road on Oct. 16.
UP NEXT: Following Tuesday's game, the Eagles travel to Greeley, Colo., to take on Northern Colorado on Friday, Oct. 11 for an 11 a.m. Pacific time matinee.
