GAME NOTES
CHENEY, Wash. – For the second time this season, the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team finds itself facing a ranked opponent. This time, the Eagles won't have to go far, as they play No. 21/23 Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., for the two teams' annual match up on Friday, Nov. 22.
 
The game will be televised regionally on SWX and for out of region fans, on the

The Eagles are still in search of their first win of the season, as they fell to No. 3 Stanford, San Jose State and most recently, Utah. All three losses have come on the road.
 
At Utah, sophomore 
Brittany Klaman led the way with 10 points in the 87-49 loss. Freshman 
Alexyss Newman followed with nine points, while 
Jessica McDowell-White had seven points and five assists.
 
McDowell-White currently leads the team with 8.7 points per game, followed by Klaman with 6.3. 
Bella Cravens leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game. McDowell-White also leads the team with 10 total assists on the year and three steals.
 
As a team, the Eagles are averaging 47.3 points per game with 32.7 rebounds per game. Three different players have led the team in scoring this year in 
Kennedy Dickie, McDowell-White and Klaman.
 
Gonzaga is currently ranked No. 23 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll and 21
st in the Coaches Poll. They are 2-1 on the season, with the lone loss coming to No. 3 Stanford in overtime, 76-70. Inside the McCarthey Center, they are 2-0.
 
The Bulldogs return two starters from a team that won its third-straight West Coast Conference regular season title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
GU has four players who average double figures, led by Jill Townsend with 14.0 points per game.
 
These two teams are no strangers to each other, as they have met consecutively every season since 1985. Eastern Washington trails the all-time series 13-33 and have only beat the Zags four times in Spokane. The Eagles are looking for their first win over GU since Dec. 31, 2003.
 
Eastern Washington faces West Coast Conference opponents in consecutive weeks. After Friday's game, the Eagles face Pepperdine in their home opener on Dec. 1, 2019 at 1 p.m. inside Reese Court. The Eagles are 34-60 all-time against WCC foes, but it will be the first meeting with the Waves.
