GAME NOTES

CHENEY, Wash. –
December basketball continues this Sunday (Dec. 8) at Reese Court for the Eastern Washington women's basketball team as they host Northwest Christian University at 1:05 p.m. Approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion, the Eagle men's team will host North Dakota as part of a doubleheader.

Tickets are on sale now at GoEags.com/tickets, and for those unable to make it, the game will be streamed for free on Pluto TV Ch. 534 and on WatchBigSky.com. Live stats will be provided on EWUStats.com and live, in-game updates and video highlights can be found by following @EWUWBB on Twitter.

Eastern Washington (0-5) is playing at Reese Court for just the second time this season and Sunday's game is part of a three-game home stand in December. Last Sunday, the Eagles opened up the month with a heartbreaking loss to Pepperdine on a three-point buzzer beater.

EWU had a two-point lead with seconds remaining, but the Waves nailed the shot at the buzzer to claim a 53-52 decision. Sophomore Bella Cravens led the Eagles with a career-high 17 points and pulled down 12 boards for her first double-double of the season and the second of her career. She also added three blocks in the effort.

Cravens currently leads the Eagles with 7.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, with her rebound average ranking second in the Big Sky Conference. She also adds one block per contest.

Fellow sophomore Jessica McDowell-White also paces the Eagles with 7.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. She also leads Eastern Washington in steals (1.6) and assists (3.4) per contest.

Through five games this season, the Eagles have had five different leading scorers. Freshman Kennedy Dickie is the only player to have scored in double figures in more than one game this year, as she added 10 against San Jose State and scored 13 against Pepperdine. She scores 6.8 points per game along with Grace Kirscher.

Northwest Christian University is an NAIA institution that competes in the Cascade Collegiate Conference in Eugene, Ore. The Beacons are currently 3-2 overall and the game will be played as an exhibition for them. NCU plays at Pacific Lutheran on Dec. 6 before heading to Cheney.

They are led by a pair of double-digit scorers in Aspen Slifka and Morgan McKinney who average 13.0 points per game. The Beacons average 65.8 points per game on 38 percent accuracy from the field.

Eastern Washington hosted another CAA member in Northwest University on Oct. 30 for an exhibition at Reese Court, picking up the 78-44 victory. Dickie poured on 24 points in the win while Cravens and Leya DePriest scored 13.

Following Sunday's game, the Eagles will host Boise State in the foes' annual matchup on Dec. 15 at 1:05 p.m.

Eastern Washington will then travel to Kansas City for the Roo Holiday classic where they play the hosts Kansas City and Bradley on Dec. 20-21 to close out non-conference play. The Big Sky slate begins on Dec. 28 against Weber State at home.
