Eagles Host Montana State This Friday for First Big Sky Conference Match of the Season

Eastern returns to play following victory over Seattle University this past weekend

CHENEY, Wash.-- The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team plays host again this Friday (Feb. 8) to the Montana State Bobcats in the Eagles first Big Sky Conference match of the season. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. Pacific time in the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse.

"We are all anxious to begin Big Sky Conference play here against Montana State," said head coach Dustin Hinson. "We've been building momentum each week of the season so far and we are ready to put our efforts into conference play. We have been making good strides in practices and working on the aspects of individual tactics so we are ready to compete on Friday."

After Saturday's win against Seattle University by a score of 6-1, the Eagles now sit at an overall record of 2-2.

Montana State is currently 0-2 in the 2019 season with losses to Colorado (7-0) and Air Force (7-0). The Bobcats are led by Jon Reeves who is in his sixth year as head coach.

Following this Friday's match against the Bobcats, Eastern returns to play on Feb. 15 as they head to Gonzaga University. First serve is set to begin at 5 p.m. Pacific time. The Eagles then return home for their third home match of the season on Sunday (Feb. 17), as they play host to the visiting University of Wyoming, which is set to begin at 10 a.m. PT.
