Eastern Places Three on All-Big Sky Teams, Including the Top Reserve of the Year in Uriah Howard

Violet Kapri Morrow was named to the second team while Grace Kirscher earned an Honorable Mention nod as a freshman

A trio of Eastern Washington University women's basketball players have earned All-Big Sky honors, as announced by the conference on Monday (March 11).

Junior Uriah Howard earned the program's first-ever Top-Reserve of the Year award while Violet Kapri Morrow was named to the All-Big Sky Second Team. Freshman Grace Kirscher earned an All-Big Sky Honorable Mention nod.

Howard shares the award with Portland State's Desirae Hansen. It's the first-ever postseason accolade for the junior who averaged 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds per game off of the bench this season. The Oakland, Calif., native finished the season strong, scoring in double figures in five out of the last seven contests.

Howard led the team in scoring at Portland State with a season-high 17 points including three three-point field goals. She scored in double figures in eight games while setting new career highs in assists (4 at Sacramento State on 2/28) and steals (5 vs. Northern Arizona on Feb. 23).

After earning a spot on the All-Big Sky Third Team last season, Morrow received the second All-Big Sky accolade of her career with a place on the Second Team. The senior ranked in the top-50 nationally and top-five in the Big Sky all season long in points per game with a current average of 18.2.

Morrow scored in double digits in 25 out of 27 games this season, including over 20 points in nine contests. In an overtime victory at Montana State, Morrow poured on 37 points which is third all-time in program history for points in a single game. She also garnered a double-double in four games.

The Tacoma, Wash., native reached milestones all year long. After becoming the 18th member of Eastern's 1,000-point club on Jan. 10 at Montana, she climbed EWU's all-time scoring list and currently ranks seventh with 1,291 career points. On March 2 at Sacramento State, she became the eighth-ever Eagle to record over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 assists in a career. She has 511 rebounds and 140 assists to go with the growing point total.

As a freshman, Kirscher earns an All-Big Sky Honorable Mention spot after averaging 10.6 points per game. She appeared in all 29 regular season games, making 21 starts and averaging 28.3 minutes.

Kirscher was a threat from three-point range, averaging 1.8 per game on 35.9 percent accuracy to total 51 on the year to lead the team. She also led the team in scoring in seven games this season and had 15 games in double figures, including two 20-point performances.

She scored a career-best 22 points at Southern Utah where she was a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range. The Sandpoint, Idaho, native also ranks in the top-ten in several statistical categories for a freshman in EWU history, including points (5th, 306), points per game (5th, 10.6), three pointers (2nd, 51), three-point attempts (1st, 142) and field goals (6th, 113).

The Eagles earned a No. 6 seed at the Big Sky Conference Tournament presented by My Place Hotels and take on No. 11 Weber State tonight (March 11) in the first round. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Pacific time and can be streamed for free on WatchBigSky.com or Pluto TV Ch. 231.
