CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University soccer squad returns home to host North Dakota State this Friday (Sept. 20). The match begins at 4 p.m. Pacific time on the EWU Soccer Field and will conclude non-conference play.
The Eagles return home with an overall record of 3-4-1 after a double overtime victory versus South Dakota in Vermillion, S.D., last Sunday.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES
The Eagles are ranked second in the Big Sky Conference behind Sacramento State who has an overall record of 5-1-2. Northern Arizona trails behind EWU with a record of 2-3-1 and Montana is behind them with a record of 1-3-3.
Sariah Keister has scored three goals on the season and currently leads the Eagles with freshman
Brooke Flores close behind. Flores has scored two goals for the Eagles, both of which were game-winners against CSU Bakersfield and South Dakota. Eastern has had six different players score including
Riley Walkington,
Mya Elder-Hammond,
Madison Kem and
Brooke Dunbar.
Saige Lyons has two assists including a game-winning assist to Flores in their double overtime victory versus South Dakota.
Flores currently leads the Big Sky in game-winning goals with Lyons ranking in third for total assists and Keister ranked second for total goals. Keister is also ranked first for shots taken totaling 26 thus far.
EWU goalkeeper
Kelsee Winston has started all eight games and has recorded 38 total saves with a .809 save percentage. She has faced 95 shots this season and recorded a shutout against Nevada.
KNOWING YOUR OPPONENT
The North Dakota State Bison head into the match with an overall record of 4-3-1 after losing their last two games last weekend. They are coached by Mike Regan who enters his second season at the helm and finished with an overall record of 9-7 and a conference record of 6-2 last season.
Bison senior Elyse Huber leads the team with five goals, three of which were game winners, for a total of ten points on the season. Senior Mariah Haberle, who was voted to The All-Summit League First Team in 2018, trails behind Huber with two goals and one assist, including a game winning goal against Saint Mary's.
NDSU's goalkeeper Monica Polgar has recorded four shutouts on the season and has allowed only four goals in the eight games they have played thus far. She has competed in all eight matches and has recorded 55 total saves with a .923 save percentage.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Eastern Washington is 1-1-1 overall against NDSU, but this will be the first time head coach
Chad Bodnar has faced the Bison. The last time they played each other was in 2013 that resulted in a 3-0 victory for the Eagles on the road.
WHAT'S NEXT
Eastern hosts Northern Colorado on Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. Pacific time which will mark their first Big Sky Conference match of the season.
The Eagles stay home to continue conference play as they host Montana on Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. PT and Idaho on Oct. 6th at 1 p.m. PT.
