CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University soccer team continues its journey on the road this Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. Pacific time, as they compete against CSU Bakersfield. After Friday's match, the Eagles travel to Northridge, Calif., to face CSUN at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Last week the Eagles took on Mississippi State to a 1-0 deficit but bounced back against Colorado State to a 1-1 draw. The match went into double overtime after
Sariah Keister scored in the 90th minute but the score remained tied after the final whistle.

A Look at the Eagles
The Eagles have a record of 1-2-1 and are ranked fourth in the Big Sky Conference ahead of Montana who has a record of 0-2-2.
Eastern has three players who have scored at least one goal and two players who have recorded one assist.
Sariah Keister has scored two goals total and is tied for second place in goals in the Big Sky behind NAU forward Paige Maling, who has scored three.
Riley Walkington has recorded one goal and one assist while
Madison Kem has one goal and

Kelsee Winston has recorded 18 saves and one shutout and has started all four games for the Eagles, collecting 385 minutes of playing time. She is currently ranked third in total saves in the Big Sky.

CSU Bakersfield is coached by Sebastian Vecchio who is in his second year at the helm. The Roadrunners head into this match with an overall record of 2-2 following a loss versus UNLV last Sunday.
CSU Bakersfield competes in the WAC and is currently standing in the number five spot. They ended last season with an overall record of 6-10-2 finishing sixth overall in the WAC. The Roadrunners return redshirt senior Aryana Harvey who recorded three goals and three assists last season as they are projected to finish seventh in the WAC according to the preseason poll.

Chad Bodnar. The Eagles defeated CSU Bakersfield in last season's opening match in an overtime victory, 1-0.
EWU outshot CSU Bakersfield 26-3 and recorded eight corner kicks including a golden goal from a corner kick in their last time out.

CSUN has an overall record of 3-1 but will face Kansas State on Friday before facing the Eagles on Sunday. They are coached by Keith West who enters his 14th season as the head coach and is currently the Matador's winningest coach in program history with an overall record of 113-111-31.
CSUN returns 19 letterwinners including senior defender Amanda Martin, who received All-Big West Honorable Mention, and forward Bethany Fitzsimmons who scored four goals for CSUN last season.

The Eagles have an all-time record of 1-3-1 against CSUN and are 0-1 under Bodnar. EWU lost 2-0 at home in their last time out against CSUN in 2017.
Grace Klinkenberg and
Saige Lyons both started for the Eagles in 2017 versus CSUN with Lyons recording two shots and they both will return this season to face them again.

EWU is on the road again for their next two matches before returning home. They face South Dakota State on Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. PT and South Dakota on Sept. 15 at 12 p.m. PT.
On Sept. 20, the Eagles return home to face North Dakota State at 4 p.m., followed by another home match on Sept. 27 versus Northern Colorado at 3 p.m. The match against Northern Colorado will mark the Eagles first conference match.
