SEATTLE, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team faced off against #14 Washington today (Jan. 12) to a 7-0 defeat in Seattle, Wash., at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The Eagles return home from the weekend 1-1 to begin the 2020 season as they rest before looking to host Whitworth later this month.
"We really enjoyed the competition at Washington today. We played free and aggressive tennis and I was proud of the competitiveness of each match. We had great points and very close games, but the main difference in playing nationally ranked opponents is that they are able to come up big in the big moments," said head coach
Dustin Hinson. "That was the difference today and that's one of the take-home messages we will work on in practice: How will we approach pressure points and pressure situations in upcoming matches. We had really great energy and a fighting spirit today and that's something I'm always looking for. We have a couple weeks off of competition and we look forward to working hard on the practice courts."
