GAME NOTES
CHENEY, Wash. – A six-game winning streak over Montana is on the line for the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team when the Eagles visit the Grizzlies on Jan. 9 in Missoula, Mont. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. Pacific time inside the Dahlberg Arena.

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles, who are sitting at 2-10 overall with a 1-2 mark in Big Sky Conference action, are coming off of a 75-58 loss at Portland State on Jan. 4. Despite the outcome, Eastern Washington had three in double figures, led by
Grace Kirscher's career-high 22 points.
Alexyss Newman exploded for all 13 of her points in the fourth quarter and pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds for her first double-double.
Jenna Dick rounded out the scoring with 11 points.
Eastern Washington also made 11 three-pointers in the game and 19 of their 22 made field goals were assisted. They also turned in a season-low of only six turnovers.
A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Kirscher currently leads the Eagles with 9.8 points per game. Fellow sophomores
Bella Cravens (8.8) and
Jessica McDowell-White (8.4) are also averaging over eight points per contest.
Cravens is the conference leader in rebounds with 8.6 per game, also ranking her 85
th in the nation. She also leads the team with 1.64 blocked shots per contest which is 81
st nationally.
McDowell-White dishes 4.4 assists per game to rank fourth in the conference and 90
th across Division I.
As a team, the Eagles rank 63
rd in the nation with 7.6 three-pointers per game. They have hit over five three-pointers in eight out of 12 games this season.
A LOOK AT THE GRIZZLIES: Montana is currently second in the Big Sky with an overall record of 8-5 and 3-1 in league play. After winning their first three conference games over Northern Arizona, Sacramento State and Southern Utah, the Griz fell to Northern Colorado by a score of 67-58.
The Griz have two players who average double figures in Mckenzie Johnston (12.5) and Emma Stockholm (11.5). Johnston also leads the team with 4.8 assists per game while Stockholm is the team leader in rebounds with 5.9 a contest.
As a team, Montana knocks down 42.2 percent of their field goal attempts, including a 32.6 percent accuracy from deep to average 67.9 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY: Despite the Eagles trailing the all-time series 18-64, six of those wins have come consecutively. Eastern Washington has won eight out of the last 10 matchups with their last loss coming on March 13, 2015.
The games have been close, as eight out of the last 10 meetings have been decided by 10 points or less. Last season, Eastern Washington picked up a 68-62 win on the road before topping Griz by a score of 67-64 at home. In Missoula, the Eagles are just 6-38 at home but have won three-straight at Dahlberg Arena.
Montana will make the return trip to Cheney on Feb. 6 for a special 11 a.m. matinee for Kid's Day.
UP NEXT: Eastern Washington will have a week off between competitions. They travel to Idaho on Jan. 16 for a matchup with the Vandals at 5:30 p.m. PT with the men's team to follow.
