CHENEY, Wash. – There's more non-conference action in store for the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team this week. On Monday, Dec. 14, the Eagles host the Grand Canyon Lopes at Reese Court for a 12:05 p.m. tip.

A LOOK AT THE EAGLES: Eastern Washington is 0-3 overall with an 0-2 mark in Big Sky Conference action. Most recently, EWU traveled to play Boise State on Dec. 10 where they fell by a final score of 84-64. Eastern Washington made eight three-pointers and were led in scoring by
Kennedy Dickie (16 pts) and
Maisie Burnham (12 pts).
Freshman
Aaliyah Alexander leads the Eagles in scoring with 14.0 points per game. Dickie also averages 10.7 points per game while leading the team in rebounding with 5.7 per contest.
Alexyss Newman is close behind, averaging 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
The Eagles lead the conference in free throw percentage, draining 81.0 (34-42) percent from the charity stripe. They also rank in the top-five in field goal percentage (39.1%), blocked shots (3.0/game) and steals (7.3/game). As a team, they average 59.7 points and 36.7 rebounds per game.
A LOOK AT THE LOPES: Grand Canyon enters the weekend with a 4-1 record and competes in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They have faced three Big Sky opponents in Weber State, Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. The Lopes are coming off a one-point, 84-83, loss in Cedar City, Utah today (Dec. 12) to the Thunderbirds.
Three players average double figures for the Lopes in Katie Scott (17.8 ppg), Ny'Dajah Jackson (11.4) and Taylor Caldwell (11.2 ppg), and Scott also leads the team with 6.2 rebounds per game, while Caldwell adds 5.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.2 steals per game.
As a team, the Lopes average 79.6 points per game and shoot 41.8 percent from the field while pulling down 37.2 rebounds per contest.
SERIES HISTORY: This is the first-ever meeting between the Lopes and the Eagles. Eastern Washington owns a 7-2 all-time record against programs from the WAC.
