Box Score LEWISTON, Idaho. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team continued Big Sky Conference play today (Feb. 29) against Idaho as they came away victorious 4-3. The Eagles now sit undefeated in the conference with a 2-0 record while Idaho moves to 2-1 in the conference.
"We had another huge Big Sky Conference win today against a tough Idaho team and I'm extremely happy with the way we came out in singles after some doubles matches that weren't our best. We reset and battled really tough in singles. I was happy with the way we controlled points and dictated play with smart margins," said head coach
Dustin Hinson. "The team was resilient in tough moments and showed some awesome grit to get those four singles wins. It was fun to see freshman
Renata Gabuzyan clinch the match with an impressive win in #5 singles. We have a quick turnaround before a tough match against Portland State, but we remain hungry for success and look to build upon the momentum in conference play."
With the win, EWU advances to a winning 4-3 overall record while Idaho drops to 2-6 overall. The Eagles have now won two-straight matches over the Vandals.
