CHENEY, Wash. – It is unknown what the second half of Big Sky Conference play will bring for the Eastern Washington University women's basketball team, but one thing's for sure, it will be off to a loud and energetic start. On Thursday, Feb. 6, Eastern Washington will welcome over 2,600 elementary school students to cheer on the Eagles when they host the Montana Grizzlies at 11 a.m. Pacific time for Kid's Day.
Admission is free to all, with seating available in limited areas. For those not at Reese Court, the game will be streamed for free on Pluto TV Channel 534 or WatchBigSky.com. The Eagles open the second half of Big Sky Conference play with an overall record of 2-17 and a 1-9 mark in league action. Thursday's game is the third game in less than a week for Eastern Washington, who is coming off of a 70-62 loss to Northern Arizona at home on Feb. 3. Four of Eastern's last six games have been decided by 10 points or less and the Eagles have had the lead in two games, been trailing by two points or tied going into the fourth quarter in those four contests.
The Montana Grizzlies are 11-9 overall and 6-5 in Big Sky play. They are coming off of a 66-61 overtime loss to Montana State at home on Feb. 1. Eastern traveled to Missoula, Mont., earlier this season on Jan. 9 where they lost 92-54 to the Griz.

Grace Kirscher (15) led the team in scoring.
Despite the loss, the Eagles have won seven out of the last 10 matchups, including six-straight from Jan. 23, 2016 to Feb. 9, 2019.
For the Eagles, both Kirscher and Dick lead the team with 10.1 points per game while
Kennedy Dickie follows closely with 9.6. Dick ranks in the top-100 nationally in three-point field-goal percentage (19
th, 43.4%), three-point field goals per game (68
th, 2.42) and three-point field goals made (94
th, 46). During Saturday's game against Sacramento State, Dick, a freshman, made eight three-pointers which is one shy of a single-game program record.
As a whole, Eastern Washington is a major threat behind the arc. They rank 20
th in all of Division I with 8.5 three-pointers per game. They have made 161 to rank 49
th, attempted 482 to rank 62
nd, and drain 33.4 percent of their shots from deep to rank 84
th. They have already broken the school record for three-pointers in a single game with 17 against Montana State, and made 14 against Sacramento State for second all-time and 12 against Northwest Christian which is eighth.

Bella Cravens also rank in the top-100 nationally in their respective statistical categories. McDowell-White is 34
th in the nation with 5.1 assists per game, 72
nd with 92 total assists and 95
th in assist to turnover ratio with 1.77. Cravens in 68
th in blocks per game with 1.71.
Montana averages 67.6 points per game and are led by McKenzie Johnston (12.8) and Emma Stockholm (11.0) in scoring. Johnston shoots 45.5 percent from the field and averages 4.4 assists per game while Stockholm also leads the team in rebounding with 5.4 per contest.
After Thursday's game, the Eagles will head to Montana State to play their fourth game within a week on Saturday, Feb. 8. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. PT in Bozeman, Mont., where EWU will look to avenge an 89-85 double overtime loss to the Bobcats at home on Jan. 18.
