Eagle Golf on Top After First Day of Griz Challenge

Kami Twining in second place to lead the Eags

RESULTS

Missoula, Mont. – After the first day at the Griz Challenge, the Eastern Washington University women's golf team lead in first place over Montana and Montana State after shooting 304 total strokes at the Missoula Country Golf Club in Missoula, Mont. Kami Twining is leading the charge for the Eagles after marking a 75 (+4), one stroke behind first place.

"We were much more consistent as a team today. We had a small stretch of holes where we made a few bogeys, but recovered nicely at the end," said head coach Brenda Howe. "Kami Twining hit the ball really well today. Tomorrow she'll look to make more putts and have a strong finish. With her in second and two others tied at third, we have a really good shot tomorrow."

Sophomore Morgan Baum and redshirt sophomore Meghan Singh both shot 76 strokes to tie for third place and junior Jaelin Ishikawa shot 77 strokes to tie for ninth.

The Eagles return tomorrow (Oct. 6) to complete the Griz Challenge beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific time as the final results will be available at the end of the day on GoEags.com.
