Brenda Howe has announced the addition of two new signees in Kylee Gregory and Brooke Mahler to the 2022 roster as part of the November signing period.
"I'm really excited to add Brooke Mahler and Kylee Gregory to our team next year," said head coach
Brenda Howe. "They will provide us some depth that comes from successful junior golf and high school careers. I expect both to come in and have immediate impacts on our lineup."
Kylee Gregory
Gregory is a native of Rossmoor, Calif., and currently attends Los Alamitos High School.
Gregory lettered in golf all four years at Los Alamitos. In 2018 as a freshman, she was crowned Rookie of the Year following a league championship trophy. Additionally, in 2018, she landed in the top-10 in three different tournaments, with her best score at the Anaheim Hills Fall Challenge where she shot 76 strokes to tie for first place.
In 2019, Gregory received the Griffin Award. She also earned 13 top-10 spots, recording five first place finishes beginning with the Royal Vista Spring Classic #1, David L. Baker Spring Classic #2, El Dorado Summer Championship, SCPGA Jr. Match Play Championship and the Lakewood Fall Challenge. Her lowest score came during the David L. Baker Spring Classic #2 where she shot 65 strokes in one round.
In a shortened 2020 season, Gregory finished in both second and third place twice, while also collecting a first place finish during the Fullerton Fall Challenge after shooting 73 strokes. Additionally, she finished in the top-10 in three separate national tournaments, including tying for seventh at the FCG Girls College Showcase at RBI after shooting 77, 75 (152) strokes.
In 2021, Gregory shot 70,71 (141) at the National Tour Coastal Challenge to win the tournament, followed by a score of 77, 75 (152) at the Toyota Tour Cup at Industry Hills GC to finish in eighth place.
Gregory has improved and kept her averages steady all throughout high school, averaging 75.9 strokes in tournament play in her junior career.
Gregory is undecided in her major but has goals of finishing in the top-five amongst her teammates as a freshman, she aims to consistently shoot mid to low 70's and intends on creating a good relationship with her teammates. Gregory is the daughter of Kelly and Chad Gregory.
Brook Mahler
Brooke Mahler is from Buckley, Wash., and currently attends White River High School.
Mahler lettered all four years in both golf and basketball and received academic awards all four years in both sports. Additionally, Mahler received first-team all-league awards in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
In 2018, Mahler placed third in her district, helping her high school squad finish first in the conference and tying for 10
th during the state championships.
In 2019 as a sophomore, Mahler finished in the top-10 in five separate district tournaments, including a first-place finish at the District 6 Sub-District #2 – Lk Spanaway after shooting 80 strokes, as well as tied for second in the District 6 Championships after shooting 81, 77 (158) strokes.
Following an irregular 2020 spring season, Mahler was named MVP All-Conference, landed second in conference play and finished eighth in the District 6 Championships after shooting 77, 81 (158) strokes.
In her most recent year of 2021, Mahler recorded four top-10 finishes, including a first place finish at the District 6 Sub-District #3 – Auburn tournament after shooting 68 strokes, as well as a second place finish at the District 6 Championships after shooting 74, 73 (147) strokes.
Mahler has proven to be consistent on her swing all throughout high school, averaging 76 strokes in tournament play in her early golf career.
Mahler plans on majoring in business finance with goals of becoming a financial advisor and she is the daughter of Christy and Don Mahler.
