BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Eastern Washington University women's golf team finished the first day at the Jackrabbit Invitational today (March 8) in seventh place after shooting 651 strokes in two rounds. The Eagles shot a 321 in round one and a 330 in round two.
"Today was extremely frustrating. We had very windy weather conditions that I know we can handle better than we did. We need to figure out how to mentally attack the day and get off to better starts each round," said head coach
Brenda Howe. "Tomorrow we'll have more of the same conditions, and I'm looking for the team to come out better prepared in the morning."
Hosts South Dakota State leads in first place after shooting 606 (296, 310) and Idaho leads in Big Sky Conference schools with 650 strokes and placing sixth overall.
The Eagles conclude in Nevada with the third round of 18 holes tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. Pacific time shotgun start.
