MOLALLA, Ore. – The Eastern Washington University golf team competed in the first day at the Big Sky Conference Championships and landed tied in eighth place at the Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Ore. The Eagles shot 320 strokes to finish alongside Montana State and Montana as they look to climb higher in the ranks tomorrow in day two of the BSC tournament.
"Today was a little frustrating. I know we are better than how we finished the day. We need to eliminate the double bogeys in order to be competitive." said head coach
Brenda Howe. "It'll be imperative that we reduce those numbers tomorrow to finish higher up on the leaderboard."
The Eagles shot four strokes away from seventh place Southern Utah and 10 strokes away from sixth place Northern Colorado.
Idaho (308), Weber State (305) and Portland State (302) hold the middle slots at fifth, fourth and third places, respectively. Sacramento State currently sits in second place with 398 strokes while Northern Arizona holds the first place spot after shooting 296 strokes.
