Golf Completes Day One at Battle at Old Works

The Eagles land in third place after shooting 628 strokes in the first two rounds

RESULTS

ANACONDA, Mont. –
The Eastern Washington University golf squad completed day one at the Battle at Old Works in third place today (Sept. 27) after shooting 314 strokes in both the first and second round for a total of 628 strokes. The Eagles finish the event tomorrow with the third and final round with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Pacific time at the Old Works Golf Club in Anaconda, Mont.

"We just aren't scoring like we need to be. We're making too many bogeys to be competitive right now," said head coach Brenda Howe. "Tomorrow we have to come out and not have so many three putts. I think we're hitting the ball just as well as everyone else, but to walk off the greens making bogeys because of putting is really hurting us."

Following the first two rounds of 18 holes, Jaelin Ishikawa leads the charge for the Eagles with 153 strokes, sitting in a tie for fourth place. Additionally, Carisa Padilla resides in the top ten, sitting tied at ninth, after shooting 157 strokes.

Eastern is competing among three Big Sky Conference opponents which include Montana State, Montana, and Idaho State, and currently lead the Bengals after two rounds.
