SEATTLE, Wash. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team took on Washington today on the road and dropped the decision 7-0 at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle, Wash. Following today's defeat, the Eagles begin the season 0-1 but look to bounce back next weekend in Pullman, Wash.
"We faced a really good team today. We wanted to focus on taking things one point at a time and controlling our effort and energy," said head coach
Dustin Hinson. "I thought we did a good job of that despite facing some really tough competition. We fought until the end no matter the score and I'm proud of that kind of effort. I was especially impressed with my two freshmen today playing at 5 and 6 singles. They played like veterans even though this was their first collegiate match. That's very encouraging. We definitely have some good depth and that's going to serve us well as we move into the rest of our schedule."
