Women’s Tennis Falls at Washington State, 5-2

Freshmen Isabella Foshee and Kenzington Mann each find victory in singles play

RESULTS

PULLMAN, Wash. –
The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team hit the road to take on Pac-12 program Washington State today and fell short, 5-2 at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse in Pullman, Wash.

"I'm really proud of the effort we put in today. Every match we played was tight and it was great to be able to pull out a couple of wins over some tough opponents. I'm very encouraged by the improvement we showed from our first match to today," said head coach Dustin Hinson. "We learned a lot last week and worked on it this week and every player showed improvement. That's what I'm looking for this early in the season. I'm happy for our two freshmen in Isabella Foshee and Kenzington Mann, who picked up their first wins of the season. Those were well-deserved wins by both players. We will use today to help us build belief in the process that we are implementing. We want to continue to work hard moving forward into our home opener next Friday."

Isabella Foshee battled her opponent at the No. 4 singles position, landing a 10-4 victory in a three-set match tie breaker. Kenzington Mann found success at the No. 5 singles spot after defeating her opponent in the first set, 7-5, before the match was deemed retired.
