Eagles Look to Extend Their Win Streak

Eastern Washington will be on the road for its next four Big Sky games

Coming off a big home win, Eastern Washington will be on the road this week and next as the Big Sky Tournament approaches. Eastern will begin this week against Idaho State on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. Pacific Time in Pocatello, Idaho. The Eagles then travel further south to play Weber State in Ogden, Utah on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. 

Last Time Out
The last game for Eastern Washington, they battled out a five-set win over Montana State, 3-2[25-22, 26-28, 19-25, 25-23, 15-11]. It was a complete team effort as the Eagles collected 76 digs, 61 assists, and had 64 kills.

Alyssa Radke led the team with 16 kills on the night and Sage Brustad collected 14, with Ka'ehukaiiha'amaina'e Keala adding 13. Sadie Bacon had the highest attack percentage for the Eagles with a .355 line. She also had five digs, finishing with 15.5 points on the night.

Scouting the Eagles
This season, Eastern has an overall record of 9-13 with a 4-6 conference record and currently sits in eighth place in the Big Sky. They are on a one-game win streak after defeating the Bobcats. In the Big Sky, out of the 91 total sets played, the Eagles have collected 441 kills and 411 assists. They are averaging 11.61 kills and 10.82 assists per set. Eastern currently sits in seventh place in kills and assists in the Big Sky.

Once again, Sage Brustad leads the Eagles in kills (297) and service aces (34), while averaging 3.49 kills and 4.15 points per set in 85 sets played. Brustad is ranked second in the conference with 365.5 points, 303 total kills and ranks third in service aces with 37.

Lindsey Russell has been outstanding this season as she is ranks fifth in the Big Sky with 856 assists while averaging 9.41 assists per set. Russell leads Eastern with a total of 811 assists this year.

Alyssa Radke is ranked ninth in the Big Sky for kills with 255 and averaging 3.00 kills per set. On the team, Radke is second in kills behind Brustad.

Scouting the Bengals
On the season, Idaho State currently sits right behind Eastern Washington at eighth place in the Big Sky. They have an overall record of 11-12 with a conference record of 3-7 and are on a one-game win streak after defeating Weber State.

In the win against Weber State, Idaho State won 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 25-15, 32-30). They collected a total of 53 kills, 96 digs, and 11 blocks. Junior, Sadie Bluth, led the Bengals with 15 kills while generating a .171 attack percentage. Jamie Streit recorded 11 kills on the night to complement Bluth.

Leading the Bengals offense is sophomore Emrie Satuala, with a total of 232 kills, 295.5 points, and .326 attack percentage. On the season, Satuala averages 3.25 points and 2.55 kills per set in 23 total matches played. Satuala currently ranks fifth in the Big Sky in hitting percentage with a .326 and ranks third in blocks with 102 averaging 1.12 per set.

In the Big Sky, the Bengals are eighth for kills with 1046, averaging 11.49 per set, and seventh place in service aces with 135, averaging 1.48 per set.

Scouting Wildcats
In the Big Sky, the Wildcats are sitting in third, a win behind Northern Colorado. They have an overall record of 13-8 with a conference record of 7-3. Weber State will be going into its next game against Idaho with a one-game losing streak after its loss to Idaho State.

In their last game, the Wildcats fell to the Idaho State Bengals, 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 15-25, 32-30). Dani Richins led Weber State in kills with 15 and tied with Emma Mangum with two aces. Richins got a total of 18.5 points, three assists and a .129 attack percentage. Kate Standifird collected eight kills while leading the team, with 38 assists and getting a .438 attack percentage.

On the season, the Wildcats have 958 kills, 881 assists, and 124 service aces. They are averaging 12.2 kills, 11.2 assists, and 1.6 services aces per set. In the Big Sky, Weber State is ranked first in blocks and opponent hitting percentage. The Wildcats have a total of 207 blocks averaging 2.62 per set, and allow a .165 opponent hitting percentage.

Individually in the Big Sky, Brielle Rueckert is ranked number one for hitting percentage with a .373 and 79 total kills. Saane Katoa is ranked number one for blocks with a total of 56, averaging 1.22 per set. Kate Standifird leads Weber State with 773 assists, averaging 9.78 per set and is third in the Big Sky.

After traveling on the road for its next two games, Eastern will stay on the road and face off against Sacramento State on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. Pacific Time. The Eagles will finish up their road schedule against Portland State on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.
