Eagles Compete at Spokane Invite

Eastern Washington performs well in Tucker’s first meet leading the program

Results

The 2022-23 season has officially begun and Eastern Washington track and field competed for the first time on Saturday (Dec. 10) at the Spokane Invite. The meet was held at The Podium in Spokane, Wash. and was Eagles' head coach Erin Tucker's first competition at the helm.

"It felt good to knock off some dust and see where we are. What we need to do now is take the performances, good or bad, and build towards better performances," Tucker said. "If we have personal bests in December, that's an awesome start and let's keep going in January. If we did not perform how we wanted today, we need to keep our head and eyes up and work on things over the next four weeks. Let's come back ready to give it another go in January. These next four weeks are extremely important for us to keep building and getting better. I love our energy and passion! Go Eags!"

Brayden Freitag and Zach Klobutcher would go four-five in the men's pole vault, clearing 16-6 3/4. Freitag moves into fourth on the program's top-10 list. Klobutcher is currently second on the list.
