EUGENE, Ore. – The Eastern Washington University women's tennis squad faced Oregon today and fell by a score of 7-0 at the Student Tennis Center in Eugene, Ore. The Eagles now sit 0-4 overall and will stay in Eugene tomorrow (Feb. 12) for a chance to bounce back against Portland at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.
"I'm really happy with the way we competed today. Oregon played really tough today," said head coach
Dustin Hinson. "We fought with everything we had from first ball to last, even when things were really stacked against us. These are the experience matches we need to learn and grow as competitors. I'm proud of our energy and I'm looking forward to another good match tomorrow against Portland."
Freshman
Isabella Foshee battled a tough opponent at No. 2 singles, collecting three points in set two but couldn't find the win to force a third set.
Renata Gabuzyan also showed strength in her swings before being edged (7-5) at No. 3 singles in set two.
