Eastern Washington will leave the comfort of Reese Court and head out on the road this weekend. The Eagles will play Weber State on Thursday, Feb. 10 with tip-off at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, followed by a matchup against Idaho State on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m.
Last Time Out
Eastern Washington battled Southern Utah for the second time this season, hosting the Thunderbirds. SUU defeated the Eagles, 55,-38 in a defensive battle. Eastern was 14-for-60(23.3%) in the game and 4-of-22(18.2%) from three-point range. Comparatively, the Thunderbirds were 18-of-50(36%) overall and 3-of-16(18.8%) from three.
 
Eastern opened the game with a 13-2 run, getting five points from 
Jaydia Martin. SUU responded with a 7-0 to close the first quarter and cut the lead down to 13-9.
 
Moving to the second quarter, the Thunderbirds 7-0 run turned into an11-0 run and the game was tied. After the Eagles reclaimed the lead, SUU ripped off an 8-0 stretch to pull ahead. The teams went into halftime with SUU leading, 23-19.
 
The Thunderbirds lead pushed their lead out to 10 in the third quarter, shooting 54.4 percent. Eastern was limited to 17.6 percent from the floor and trailed, 38-28 after three.
 
The Eagles found some rhythm in the final quarter, but it was not enough to make up the deficit against SUU. The Thunderbirds continued to score, shooting 44.4 percent and closing out Eastern in the game.
 
Jacinta Buckley scored a team-high 10 points, while Martin added seven and 
Andie Zylak and 
Alexis Pettis each scored six. Buckley's 12 rebounds matched a game high with SUU's Darri Dotson, who had a game-high 13 points.
A Look at the Eagles
Eastern Washington has a 4-16 overall record this season, going 2-9 in Big Sky matchups. The Eagles are currently on a five-game losing streak, with three coming at home and two on the road.
 
Jacinta Buckley has recorded five double-doubles this season and has 12 double digit scoring games, along with six double digit rebound games. Buckley ranks third in the Big Sky with 8.4 rebounds and is second on the team with 11.6 points per game, ranking 18th in the conference.
 
Jaydia Martin leads the Eagles in scoring with 14.3 points per game. Martin's scoring average is fourth in the conference and she has scored in double figures in 17 of the team's 20 games this season. The true freshman ranks second in the Big Sky with 45 made three-pointers, averaging 2.25 a game. Martin leads the conference with 155 three-pointers attempted and is shooting 29 percent from behind the arc.
 
Eastern Washington continues to force turnovers by stealing the ball this season, posting 8.8 steals per game with a 176 total this season. Both stats rank third in the conference. Martin is the Eagles' leader, with 32 on the season and is averaging 1.6 steals per game. 
Jaleesa Lawrence has 27 steals this season, while Buckley and 
Milly Knowles each have 22.
 
Eastern's field-goal defense have been a high-mark for the team this season, allowing teams a 37.3 shooting percent in games. The Eagles are second in the Big Sky after holding Southern Utah to 36 percent from the floor.
 
The defensive effort has been there for Eastern as they have the fourth best scoring defense in the Big Sky, allowing 63.6 points per game. The Eagles kept the Southern Utah team averaging 74 pointer per game to only 55, allowing only two players to score in double figures.
A Look at the Wildcats
Weber State is 8-14 overall this season and has a 4-9 record in Big Sky games. The Wildcats had their Montana road trip this past weekend, dropping games to both Montana(59-61) and Montana State(71-74) in close contests.
 
Junior Jadyn Matthews leads the Weber and ranks second in the conference with 9.3 rebounds per game. Along with Matthews, Junior Emma Tolbert is second in the Big Sky with 35 blocks, averaging 1.67 per game. The duo has helped the Wildcats rank fourth in blocked shots(70) and fourth in rebounds(847)
 
Junior Daryn Hickok handles the scoring for Weber, averaging 14.1 points per game to come in at fifth in the Big Sky scoring leaders. Hickok has scored 20-plus points in five games this season, including 22 in the team's loss to Montana State.
 
The Wildcats are strong free-throw shooting team, leading the conference with 440 attempts this season. Weber has made 335 free-throws to rank second and is shooting 76.1 percent from the line, good for third. Hickok is second in the Big Sky with 95 made on 118 attempts, while Matthews is third with 72 made on 94 attempts.
Series History
Eastern Washington trails Weber State, 39-45, in the all-time series between the two programs. The Eagles have won the past three meetings between the teams to push towards a .500 record against the Wildcats. Eastern is 24-16 at Reese Court and is 12-27 away from home, while going 3-2 at neutral sites.
 
The two teams played earlier this season in Cheney, with the Eagles winning 56-52.

A Look at the Bengals
Idaho State sits at second in the Big Sky conference with a 10-3 record and 14-8 overall this season. In the team's last matchups, the Bengals defeated Montana, 65-58 in Missoula. Idaho St. also played Montana State last Thursday, dropping the game, 73-68.
The Bengals distribute the ball well this season, leading the conference with 343 assists and averaging 15.6 a game, ranking second. The team is third in the conference with a 1.00 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Guard Estefania Ors averages 3.3 assists per game to lead Idaho St., ranking 11th in the Big Sky. Ors is fifth in the conference with a 1.55 assist-to-turnover ratio. The graduate student is also the team's leading scorer, recording 12.6 points per game, while shooting 46.6 percent from the floor.
In the paint, guard Tomekia Whitman leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per game. The junior is also second in the conference with 59 total steals and averaging 2.68 per game.
Series History
Eastern Washington and Idaho State had an even split in the series history prior to this season, but the Bengals pulled ahead, 40-39, with a win in Cheney earlier this season. The Eagles are 14-23 away against the Bengals and 23-14 at home. Eastern has a 2-3 record against ISU in neutral site games.
The Eagles dropped the first game against ISU this season, 87-66, back in mid-January.
