ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Eastern Washington University women's golf team completed the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in 10^th place after shooting 943 total strokes at the Sunbrook Golf Course. The Eagles shot 334 in the first round, 315 in the second and finished with a low of 294 strokes to move up the leaderboard.

"We played outstanding today. We talked about being mentally tougher and having higher expectations for ourselves. This time of year it's easy to let doubts enter our minds, but I feel how we played today should be our expectation every time we compete," said head coach Brenda Howe, "Our round today was the second best score of the day, beat every Big Sky Conference school and climbed the leaderboard to pass two more conference schools. Kami Twining was fantastic. We switched out her putter at our last tournament and it has made a huge difference in her putting and confidence. I'm proud of how she came out and fought to get into the top placers of the field."

Kami Twinning finished tied for 10^th after shooting an impressive 71 strokes in the third round, which topped five players in four other conference schools. Jaelin Ishikawa hit par at 72 strokes and Morgan Baum improved by 17 from the first day to finish with a 73 today.

Arkansas State (889) won the tournament, edging Seattle (890) by one stroke.
