Box Score FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The Eastern Washington University women's tennis team took on Northern Arizona today and fell 7-0 at the Aquatic and Tennis Center in Flagstaff, Ariz. The Eagles move to 3-9 overall and 2-3 in Big Sky play.
"We had a lot of close matches today and some of the scores don't reflect how close many of the games were. We had plenty of effort and good energy out on court. I never question that with this team," said head coach Dustin Hinson. "They want to do well and they fight for anything they can get. Ultimately we played a bit too tentative when matches were close. We need to keep training hard and developing that belief and confidence to go take those close matches when things are tight rather than playing not to lose. That was the main difference today. Each match is a learning opportunity and we hope to grow from today to be stronger competitors in our upcoming matches."
Jennifer Kida found success in set two at the No. 1 singles spot after defeating her opponent 6-3. Isabella Foshee also gained momentum in singles play at No. 5 after winning the second set and forcing a three-set tie breaker match.
